OpenPedal

Pedal Harp Base

Why This Was Created

The base is the foundation of the OpenPedal system - literally. I needed a structure to mount all the pedal mechanisms internally while keeping the external shape historically accurate. This design is based closely on an original harp base from the 1700s, with a slight height increase (about 2 cm) to accommodate the deeper motion range required for a double-action pedal system and supporting electronics. This version of the base uses microswitches to detect pedal position and is still a work in progress - but it’s functional and a great starting point for prototyping.

Included Files

Note: This is the first functional version of the base. Updates and revised versions will be posted here as the design evolves.
